Why Personal Brand is Critical For Twitch Stream Growth
To build a solid foundation for growth you need to have systems in place that allow you to scale your stream. As Streamers, we have the ability to show and guide our community on ways to make others feel welcome and want to return to our stream. Conversely, it's also our responsibility to ensure that we, as public figures, aren't turning people away from our streams. We're going to discuss both of these in detail today.

Build and Protecting Your Personal BrandWhat is branding? First let me tell you what it's not. Branding is not your logo or the colors you use. Branding is, as Jeff Bezos put it, "what people say about you when you are not in the room". As a public figure your personal brand is everything. Your personal brand represents you to your current and potential viewers. You should build it around adding value to your community and protect it at all times. Here are some ways to do that:
Avoid controversial topics in your chat and on your socials: Everyone has different beliefs on controversial topics such as politics, religion, etc. As a public figure, it's best to avoid these topics completely anywhere that your fans could potentially see it, i.e. in your stream, on your socials, in group chats, etc. Many people are very passionate about these topics and the last thing you want to do is lose loyal viewers because your views don't match. As Mary J. Blige said, "No More Drama": This plays a little bit off of the previous paragraph as it also has to do with what we air out in public. Most people looking to have a good time don't want to be involved with drama. Don't use social media and group chats to air out your dirty laundry and don't allow people to do it in your stream. Remember, you're a public figure so keep the things you post and comment about uplifting and positive, even in private and group chats as these always seem to end up as screenshots and find their way out. Our focus as public figures is to add value to our community. Avoid everything that doesn't point to this. Set rules for your chat: You should have a set of rules for your chat about the environment you want and let those be your north star. If you see your chat heading in the wrong direction such as the topics above are being discussed or someone is being rude and getting too wild, redirect with a new topic or go to emote only mode. Instruct your mods on what to look for and have them do the same. If that doesn't work then politely ask your chat to please avoid those topics. Don't be afraid to time people out if they aren't respecting the rules. Your chat health is everything and determines if people will come back or not.

Bonus Tips & TricksHere are some other actionable ideas to help you create and great environment in your stream:Create a welcome system for your mods: Whenever a new or returning viewer enters the chat, all of your mods should welcome them and say hello. This way, even if you miss the person's first message in the chat, you'll be able to see all of your mod's welcoming them, which should then trigger you to say hello and welcome that viewer. This helps to ensure you don't miss anyone.
Create a 200 channel point redemption: Each new viewer immediately gets 200 channel points to use in your chat. You can create a 200 channel point reward for them to redeem so they can quickly get engaged in the chat. Encourage your new viewers to use it. Ours is the "New To The Stream Wave" where I (obnoxiously) wave, Forest Gump style. Come up with something fun and unique for yours.
Direct viewers on ways they can interact with you outside of the stream: The more chances you and your viewers have to talk, interact and share, the stronger the bonds become within your community. Some examples would be:
Encourage them to follow you on social media
Creating a Discord
Incorporate gratitude and giving back within your stream: Positivity and gratitude go hand-in-hand to create a space where each and every viewer feels seen, valued, and included for the part they play in your stream. Whether they give you their time or help monetarily, each person in your chat deserves to be acknowledged for their help in making your stream a successful one. Here are some ways that you can show your gratitude to your chat that can help elevate the love:
Thank your chat for each and every bit, subscription, and gifted sub
Express your gratitude to you viewers for choosing to watch YOU
Consider giving back to your community with giveaways as a thank you with merchandise, mixes you have made, stickers, gift cards, etc.
